4 channel Variable Power Supply

One of the frequent frustrations of experimental work in electronics is the non-availability of suitable powers supplies. The needs of individuals can vary considerably. +5V, -5V, +12V, -12V, in fact anything from 3V to 12V is common. Sometimes dual rail supplies are needed, sometimes not and from time to time the ability to use different ground potentials at the same time is required.

The kit for this unit provides four totally independent and isolated supplies, to they can be used in any configuration. Presets are provided which locate on the PCB but one of more of these can be substituted by a panel mounted potentiometer for providing a variable voltage function.

The maximum current available is dependent upon the total load on the unit as a whole, but it will easily source 200mA per channel if all are in use and somewhat more if only some channels are in use. Certainly enough for most analogue and digital experimentation with tone generators, filters, tremulants, etc.

The image shown in that of the prototype, very minor changes have been made to the current version.

Other output voltages could be provided if wished.

The kits contains all the necessary parts, but no case as that will probably be a personal choice.
